What We Do

Rescue

We rescue injured and orphaned wild animals and provide emergency veterinary care.

Rehabilitate

We provide a safe, natural environment for those animals in need of rehabilitation and long term care.

Release

When the time comes that the animals are healthy & mature, we release them back in to the jungle where they belong.

Protect

We promote respect for and appreciation of wildlife as an invaluable and irreplaceable asset to the community and its residents.

How You Can Help

SIBU needs your donations. There are many ways to assist us in our efforts to rehabilitate and release Costa Rica’s native animals. Please consider adopting a monkey, purchasing a transformer insulation kit or donating towards our new nursery center.

Welcome Vida, the Baby Squirrel

We’re about more than just monkey business at SIBU Sanctuary. This tiny red variegated squirrel named Vida was found orphaned on the side of the road and was picked up by a caring family in Nosara. Not sure exactly how to care for a baby squirrel, they brought her to us at SIBU.

Sad News from Guiones

We are sad to report that two days ago, a monkey was killed by electrocution down in the Guiones area of town. The monkey came into contact with an unshielded transformer and was killed instantly.
